Birmingham, UK – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) successfully concluded the second leg of its outreach initiative, “Roots & Dreams – A Conversation with ZIFA,” in Birmingham, fostering a vibrant connection with the Zimbabwean diaspora. The event, attended by ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi, Warriors Head Coach Michael Nees, and Warriors Captain Marvelous Nakamba, served as a dynamic platform to unite the community and inspire collective action toward advancing Zimbabwean football.

Held on April 25, 2025, the engagement brought together Zimbabweans in the Birmingham area to discuss the growth and development of football in their homeland. President Magwizi shared ZIFA’s forward-looking vision, outlining strategic objectives to build a modern, inclusive, and results-driven football ecosystem. He emphasized the critical role of the diaspora, calling for creative systems and structures to enable Zimbabweans abroad to contribute meaningfully to the sport’s progress at home.

Warriors Head Coach Michael Nees provided insights into the technical direction of the national team, outlining plans to elevate the Warriors on the global stage. Meanwhile, Captain Marvelous Nakamba, a celebrated figure in international football, delivered a heartfelt message of unity and encouragement, drawing from his personal journey to inspire attendees.

The Roots & Dreams initiative underscores ZIFA’s commitment to inclusivity, bridging the gap between local and diaspora communities to unlock the full potential of Zimbabwean football. The Birmingham event highlighted the power of collaboration, with attendees actively exchanging ideas to support the sport’s growth.

ZIFA expressed deep gratitude to all participants for their contributions to the inspiring occasion, reaffirming its dedication to fostering unity and progress. “Together, we can transform Zimbabwean football, both at home and abroad,” the Association stated.

As ZIFA continues its outreach efforts, the Birmingham engagement stands as a testament to the strength of community and the shared dream of a brighter future for Zimbabwean football.
