Stadium 974 in Qatar is the world’s first transportable football stadium.
It’s made from refurbished shipping containers and can be completely dismantled, transported to another country and put together.
The stadium will be dismantled after the World Cup and provided as assistance to under-developed countries in Africa.

Most people think that this stadium’s name is derived from Qatar’s international dialing code, but there’s more! It also indicates the exact number of shipping containers used for the project. 974 CONTAINERS- let that sink in.
Capacity of Stadium 974 is 40,000, which is the average capacity of Qatar’s World Cup stadiums. The exceptions are Al Bayt Stadium with over 60,000 capacity, and Lusail Stadium with 80,000!
Once the World Cup is finished, the stadium will be dismantled and will make way for a family oriented waterfront development.
This stadium is located within a walking distance from Ras Abu Aboud metro station (first station on the Gold Line).
