South African Airways Strengthens Commitment to Zimbabwe’s Travel Industry

Harare, Zimbabwe – 12 February 2025

South African Airways (SAA) is solidifying its market leadership in Zimbabwe’s aviation and travel sector through high-level engagements with travel agencies and ticketing specialists in Harare this week.

These strategic discussions aim to strengthen partnerships, improve customer experience, and promote sustainable growth, positioning SAA as a preferred carrier in the region.

Menon Ramasawmy, SAA’s Manager for Southern Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Ocean Islands, emphasized the importance of Zimbabwe to the airline’s regional strategy. “Zimbabwe is a key market for SAA, and our engagements with travel industry partners are essential in strengthening our position and delivering world-class service. We are committed to ensuring that our travel agency partners have the tools, support, and incentives necessary to grow their businesses while collectively elevating the travel experience for our customers,” he said.

With Zimbabwe’s travel industry evolving rapidly, SAA’s Harare meetings provide a collaborative platform to identify industry trends, address passenger needs, and co-create solutions for more efficient service delivery. By fostering these partnerships, SAA is focused on building a more collaborative travel ecosystem that benefits the entire industry.

Julie Rewayi, SAA’s Country Manager for Zimbabwe, expressed gratitude to travel agents and ticketing specialists for their continued support. “We are incredibly grateful to our travel agency and ticketing partners for their unwavering support and trust in SAA. Zimbabwe remains a vital market for us, and we are fully committed to growing with them and ensuring we provide the best possible service and connectivity for travellers. Their role in shaping the customer journey is invaluable, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership even further,” she said.

SAA’s renewed engagement comes as air travel sees a resurgence, driven by increasing demand for reliable and customer-centric airline services. The airline has positioned itself to support this growth with dependable connectivity, enhanced incentives, and superior service delivery.

Beyond its core airline operations, SAA plays a significant role in Zimbabwe’s tourism industry, helping drive inbound tourism, facilitate business travel, and connect the country to global markets. The airline’s robust regional and international network supports Zimbabwe’s broader economic and development goals, reinforcing its importance as a partner in the nation’s growth.

This renewed engagement underscores SAA’s long-term vision for Zimbabwe’s aviation sector. As it continues to expand its market leadership and strengthen partnerships, SAA is sending a clear message: the airline is committed to growth, innovation, and leadership in Zimbabwe’s aviation and tourism landscape.
