DOHA, Qatar – February 25, 2025 – Qatar Airways has reached a significant milestone in its mission to revolutionize in-flight connectivity, announcing today that over half of its Boeing 777 fleet is now equipped with Starlink internet. The airline, renowned for its commitment to passenger experience, has successfully outfitted 30 of its Boeing 777 aircraft with the cutting-edge satellite technology, just four months after launching the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 flight in October 2024.

This rapid rollout underscores Qatar Airways’ ambitious plan to provide free, high-speed Wi-Fi across its entire fleet. The airline is ahead of schedule, originally targeting full integration of Starlink across its Boeing 777 aircraft by mid-2025. With this latest update, Qatar Airways now expects to complete the upgrade by the second quarter of 2025, bringing seamless internet access to thousands of passengers sooner than anticipated.

Starlink, developed by SpaceX, offers a game-changing solution for in-flight connectivity, delivering low-latency, high-speed internet via a constellation of satellites. Passengers on equipped flights can now stream movies, browse social media, and stay connected mid-air all at no additional cost. This move aligns with Qatar Airways’ reputation as an industry leader, having consistently ranked among the world’s top airlines for service and innovation.

“We are thrilled to see such rapid progress in our partnership with Starlink,” said a Qatar Airways spokesperson. “Enhancing the onboard experience is a priority for us, and providing free, reliable Wi-Fi is a key part of that vision. We’re excited to bring this technology to even more of our passengers in the coming months.”

The successful deployment follows Qatar Airways’ broader strategy to modernize its fleet and services. The airline has hinted at plans to extend Starlink connectivity to other aircraft types, though no specific timeline has been confirmed. Industry analysts see this as a bold step in the competitive aviation market, where in-flight internet is increasingly a deciding factor for travelers.

For now, passengers flying on the upgraded Boeing 777s can enjoy a taste of the future of air travel connected, convenient, and complimentary. As Qatar Airways continues its rollout, the skies are looking faster and more connected than ever.
